Hi Cal,

Wow, thanks for the kind words Cal. I've learned a heck of a lot in your online WPF class over the last 10 weeks!

I know you cover this is your detailed webcast, but it's worth pointing out here that the impressive transition effects in my XBAP greeting card are taken from the "Bag-o-tricks" code library of Microsoft's Kevin Moore. I personally learned about it from his MIX07 video, which I recommend viewing. He links to the video (which you can watch with the Silverlight viewer) in this blog article:

http://work.j832.com/2007/05/my-mix-session-is-finally-live.html

He introduces the transition effects at about time 53:18.

Hi Cal,

It's interesting how important "design" and Blend skills are in the Dice job posting, and how the employer put them ahead of C# skills.

All the talk at MIX07 directed towards designers as unique from coders is evidently more than just "talk".

But these guys (and I assume many others) would be happiest to get both skills in one body. Kind of like a football player who could both run with the ball and throw it well too.

On 5/21/07, I requested Expression Blend and Expression Web be included in the MSDN AA Program since both were not in the list. Jenny Vela at Foothill added Expression Blend to the list, but is unable to add Expression Web at this time.

Sadly I don't have any special insight into what the "big" announcement on Sivlerlight at the Mix will be. I have a Microsoft Evangelist in my WPF class but of course he isn't going to leak the news -- and naturally I don't blame him.

All of my classes are available online so students can take them from anywhere in the world -- well at least anywhere that there's an Internet. Just check out my explanation of why it's easier to learn in a class than on your own <a href="http://www.schrotenboer.com/foothill/onlineclassanalysis.htm" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"> here</a>.

I have very positive feelings for New Jersey and even lived there for several years.
